Minera Hecla S.A. de C.V. is the Mexican subsidiary of Hecla Mining Company, a firm focused on precious metals. Founded in 1992, Minera Hecla is responsible for the San Sebastián silver and gold mine, located in the Mexican Silver Belt, near Durango city. The property covers a 40,324ha area comprising 32 mining concessions. The deposit is estimated to hold 70Moz of silver equivalent. The company is planning on transitioning its open-pit operations to underground mining by the end of 2017. Minera Hecla is headquartered in Durango city.
