Description:

Technip is a French oil and gas services company engaged in project management, engineering and construction for the energy industry. The group is active in three business segments: subsea, offshore and onshore. It has industrial assets on five continents, a fleet of 21 vessels in operation and six more under construction. Technip's projects in the region include providing EPCI services for the development of the Starfish field, located in Trinidad's East Coast Marine Area. It employs some 38,000 people in 48 countries, with regional operations in Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela. Technip was incorporated in 1958 and is based in Paris, France. In 2014 Technip was awarded a flexible pipe contract for ultra-deepwater drilling operations of Brazil's state-run oil company Petrobras. Technip's operating center in Rio de Janeiro will perform engineering and project management for 114km of pipes. The equipment is expected to be installed at the Santos basin's pre-salt Iracema North field in the first half of 2015. The company, which already has two flexible pipe plants in the country, also expects four Brazil pipe lay support vessels (PLSV) to be ready in 2016-17 to cover ultra-deep pre-salt developments. The Açu, Buzios, Olinda and Recife PLSVs are under an eight-year charter with an eight year option. Açu and Buzios will be able to operate in water depths of up to 3,000m; Olinda and Recife, up to 2,500m. Technip PLSVs already operating in Brazil are Coral Do Atlantico, Estrela do Mar, Niterói and Vitória.
