Ecuador issues hydro project, thermal capacity calls
Ecuadoran state power generator Elecaustro launched bidding to advance the 19.6MW Infiernillos hydro project in Loja province.
The consultancy call covers the detailed engineering and update of the definitive design. Asociación Astec & Unitec submitted studies in 2014 to the energy and mines ministry.
Offers for the US$1.16mn, 240-day contract are due by June 13, according to bidding information, available here.
For its part, state power corporation Celec's Electroguayas unit is accepting expressions of interest for the rental of thermoelectric power generators to help cover demand. Information is available at this link.
The goal is to secure 260MW of thermal capacity.
