Rockwell Automation Press Release

The security of industrial environments is facing a worrying escalation. According to the 2024 “State of Operational Technology and Cybersecurity” report, prepared by Fortinet, 73% of organizations reported intrusions affecting their OT (operational technology) systems, up from 49% the previous year. An even more alarming figure is that 31% of companies suffered more than six attacks in the last 12 months, almost tripling the number recorded a year earlier.

The increase in these incidents reflects an increasingly critical reality for sectors such as energy, manufacturing, mining, and logistics, where operational technologies (OT) are essential for productive continuity. The increasing digitalization of processes and the interconnection of industrial systems have opened new gaps that attackers are quick to exploit, while many companies still lack the tools or trained personnel to respond effectively.

Against this backdrop, Rockwell Automation—the world's largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation—announced the launch of a new cybersecurity monitoring and response service, specifically designed for OT environments with 24/7 continuous surveillance.

“With increasingly sophisticated threats, organizations require constant vigilance and specialized expertise, something they often can't meet with their own resources,” explains Nick Creath, Lead Product Manager for Cybersecurity Services at Rockwell Automation.

The new service not only monitors risks in real time but also offers guided responses from expert analysts, supporting industrial teams in critical moments. This system enables early detection of vulnerabilities, more agile incident response, and reduced downtime, thus mitigating potential operational and economic impacts.

“Visibility, intelligence, and rapid response capabilities are key to protecting OT environments. With this service, we act as an extension of internal teams, filling talent gaps and strengthening their security posture,” Creath adds.

In addition to its continuous monitoring capabilities, the solution incorporates advanced analytics to transform raw data into actionable intelligence, step-by-step technical response to efficiently contain incidents, and periodic executive reporting that keeps key departments informed. Its modular and scalable design allows it to adapt to the specific needs of each industry, helping organizations face an increasingly demanding environment with more resilient and secure operations.
