The cable will span the seabed between the continental province of Manabí and the Galapagos, and will initially increase the capacity of the Galapagos Islands by more than tenfold. The total design capacity of the cable system is 20 terabits per second, capable of providing more than 2,500 times more than the current bandwidth available in the region. The project will also be reinforced with the replacement of the old copper cables in the terrestrial part of the islands with 80 kilometers of optical fiber in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz, San Cristóbal, Bellavista, Baquerizo Moreno, Isabela and Puerto Villamil.
