The hydroelectric dam would use water from the Marañón river and would include a station to maintain the environmental flow. The project includes the construction of a double ternary Yaku-Kiman Ayllu transmission line. Construction and commissioning are expected to take 60 months for a design flow of 282.2 m³/s. The project is a conventional hydroelectric development located in the intermediate section of the Marañón river (upper middle basin). This design includes an average gross drop of 133.2 m between the average elevation of the water in the reservoir (1,860 masl) and the restitution level (1,726.8 masl). The project will be located in the districts of Cusca, La Pampa and Yanac (province of Corongo), Huallanca and Yuracmarca (province of Huaylas), Fidel Olivas Escudero (province of Mariscal Luzuriaga), Parobamba and Quinuabamba (province of Pomabamba), Cashapampa, San Juan and Sicsibamba (province of Sihuas) in the department of Ancash, in the district of Huacrachuco (province of Marañón) in the department of Huánuco, and the district of Huancaspata (province of Pataz) in the department of La Libertad.
